Javlon Mardonov

Software Engineer · Based in Tashkent. Ships Flutter, NestJS, and Next.js.

Founding engineer at UzChess. I build mobile apps, real-time backends, and the kind of infrastructure that stays up under load.

Javlon Mardonov
01 — About

A developer who plays chess.

I'm a software engineer from Tashkent. I co-founded UzChess, where I'm Founding Engineer and CTO, and I ship production systems at GlobalMove — mobile apps, NestJS backends, real-time infrastructure, and occasionally a zero-downtime database migration under a live base of 1.3M+ registered users.

I work end-to-end: schema design, backend services, Flutter clients, React admin tools, deploys, and the on-call that comes after. My default stack is TypeScript / NestJS / Flutter / MongoDB, but I reach for whatever the problem actually wants. I work AI-first — Claude Code in the editor, and agentic automation shipped into products like the FIDE Olympiad 2026 accreditation pipeline.

Outside of shipping code, I'm a FIDE-licensed National Arbiter and help run tournaments for the Uzbekistan Chess Federation — organizing, pairing, and broadcasting events like the President's Cup and Tashkent OPEN. The chess work feeds the engineering work: both reward thinking one move ahead and staying calm when the clock runs.
